Your Provider for High-Quality Wine Bottle Labels with G3 Label

Your wine label is critical for the success of your brand. Studies show that the wine label impacts consumer buying decisions when comparing different products on the shelf. Even the color of a wine label influences how consumers perceive the wine’s taste and smell. A well-designed label can increase consumer engagement and curiosity, leading to a purchase.

Working with a skilled wine label printer is essential. You need a quality printed label to bring your design vision to life and reflect your brand story.

For decades, G3 Enterprises has worked with large boutique wine brands and designers to produce influential wine labels. G3 is rooted in the wine industry and committed to bringing customers creative, integrated wine-label solutions. Learn how our wine label printing technology and experience can benefit your brand.

G3 Wine Label Printing Technologies

G3 has several technologies available for wine label printing. We have comprehensive options with capacity for famous brands and premium capability for luxury brands.

Pressure-Sensitive Labels

Pressure-sensitive labels are made from a thin, flexible material that sticks to the surface of the wine bottle. It has become the most popular label option, with applications beyond the wine industry.

Pressure-sensitive labels have several advantages, such as:

  • Flexibility
  • Durability
  • Variety of face stock and adhesive materials available, including eco-friendly materials
  • Many label shapes are possible
  • High-quality graphics

Uncoated paper is the most common type of face stock for pressure-sensitive wine labels. Polymer films are also used, including transparent, white, and metallic.

Polymer materials resist moisture and are generally more durable than paper.

You can customize your pressure-sensitive labels from G3 with ink and coating finishes. The options include matte, gloss, and metallic.

Cut-and-Stack Labels

Cut-and-stack labels are also known as wet glue labels. They’re printed on large sheets, then die-cut and stacked into bundles.

Cut-and-stack labels are cost-effective for large orders and have a sustainable benefit because they don’t use liner material. They’re very durable and can withstand a variety of environmental conditions.

You can easily customize cut-and-stack labels to fit your product.

Digital Labels

Digital printing from G3 can be a good option for smaller to medium production quantities. Digital printing provides design flexibility, lower production costs, and expedited turnaround times.

Digital software eliminates the need for printing plates. Changing the design is more straightforward and less expensive, and you can update it as your product grows.

A range of colors and finishes are available, and each label in a print run can have a unique design if desired. Digital technology can accurately reproduce technically challenging images, like photos or complex logos with shading.

Bottle Etching

Bottle etching makes your wine bottle feel more luxurious, sophisticated, and special! The G3 Label Division can etch a logo, text, or your whole label design on your glass bottles from 750 ML bottles to magnum.

Etched designs are hand-crafted using reductive abrasion and custom-painted colors to create a visually stunning display.

Etching is usually more expensive than printed labels. It can be a great memorial for products like limited wine releases and special occasions such as anniversaries and auction lots. Bottle etching provides a personalized touch that can’t easily be replicated by other means. At G3, we can etch from a few hundred to a few thousand bottles per batch.

Sustainability in G3 Wine Label Production

G3 Enterprises is committed to achieving label sustainability. We strive to develop business practices that contribute to environmental responsibility.

Sustainable Labels: GTREE PCW Labels and Sierra White Labels with Earthcoating

GTREE paper labels use 100% post-consumer recycled fibers. This proprietary label paper is exclusive to the G3 Label Group.

GTREE is a collaboration between G3 Enterprises and family-owned Monadnock Paper Mills. Monadnock Paper Mills is recognized as a global environmental steward. Their team worked with G3 to develop label stock that would meet the demands of the wine industry.

GTREE labels can sit for hours to days in an ice bucket before the label turns grey and the fibers degrade. This is significantly better performance than conventional paper labels.

The newest type of GTREE label paper is EarthCoating. The labels have increased wet strength, which allows for more durability and brand integrity. Unlike standard plastic welds, the coating is re-pulpable.

The manufacturing process for GTREE label stock uses 100% renewable energy and is carbon neutral. The process is also chlorine-free.

Low-VOC Ink Technology

More than 70% of our custom wine labels use low-VOC printing technologies. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can have negative effects on people’s health and the environment. Our UV ink technology eliminates almost all VOCs.

UV inks have several advantages beyond their sustainability.

They cure almost immediately because they use targeted UV light instead of air. This helps prevent offsetting and ghosting. Images are sharper and more vibrant.

Labels can be handled immediately without the need for drying time. UV inks are very resistant to scratching, smudging, and rubbing.

Waste Reduction

The G3 Label Division is working on multiple fronts to reduce waste.

First, we significantly reduced hot foil printing. Our proprietary G INK Reflection is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative. It provides a metallic shine like foil stamping but with a lower cost and less environmental impact.

This process avoids the costs and time of setting up dies. You can make changes to the design more efficiently and print a metallic look on uncoated paper.

When a brand uses metallic ink instead of foil, raw material waste volume is reduced by 90%.
