Hooray for dads! The king-of-the-grill teaches us so much. This June 16th, Dad deserves to kick back while you take charge of the grill. Spice World Ready-to-Use products are perfect for cooking out and adding bold flavor to your meals and marinades. Treat your special dad, granddad, stepdad, or bonus dad to a Father’s Day menu fit for a king.
Level up your skills at the grill with these essential grilling hacks:
Customize your char: Prefer burgers with more of a char? Cook them near the center of the grill while the flame is high. For less char, wait until the flame dies down, or use the outside of the grill.
Ice is nice: Give your burgers a juicy finish by placing an ice cube inside of each patty. Form the patty around the ice cube just before grilling, and then flatten the patty and grill.
A perfect tin: Consolidate what you carry by serving condiments from a muffin tin. Squeeze, pour, or scoop ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, Spice World Ready-to-Use Chopped Easy Onion, and Dad’s other favorite burger toppings into one convenient serving tray: This ensures everyone gets the condiments they want without having to go searching or asking for them.
Clean the grill with an onion: Once your grill is hot, chop an onion in half and skewer the uncut portion with a fork. Then, use the onion to scrub the baked-on grease and grime off your grill.
Turn your house into a steakhouse

- 1 ½ tsp Spice World Ready-to-Use Minced Garlic
- 1/3 cup olive oil

- Pour marinade in a bowl covered with plastic wrap or in a resealable plastic bag, then add steak and coat thoroughly. Refrigerate and allow steak to rest in the marinade for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours before cooking. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Sear steaks in a cast iron skillet or on a grill until your desired doneness.
Expert tips for cooking steak:
Make sure the steak comes to room temperature. This will take about 20-30 minutes and allows the steak to cook evenly on the inside and outside.
Cook the steak on its sides if it’s a thick piece. This helps to render the white fat that can be on the edge of some steak cuts and sears the edges for more flavor.
Make sure that the oil is hot before adding the steaks to the skillet. It should be shimmering when you add them in. If the oil is not hot enough, the steaks won’t sear properly.
Allow the steaks to rest after cooking. Remove them from the skillet and loosely cover them with foil for at least 5 minutes. This will allow the fats to redistribute so that you have an extra juicy steak.
What temperature should the steaks be when cooked?
For the best results, use an instant read thermometer to check when your steaks are cooked to your liking. As the steaks rest, they will continue to rise in temperature.
Medium rare: Take the steaks out when they hit 130F to rise to 135F.
Medium well: Take the steaks out when they hit 145F to rise to 150F.
Well done: Take the steaks out when they hit 155F to rise to 160F.
