Of those suffering from diabetic foot, 40% of those will heal with some form of amputation (toes, foot, leg).
The survivabel rate for a leg amputee is 5 years (less than breast or colon cancer).
50% of those experiencing a leg amputation will lose the other leg within 5 years.
