Spring is in the air — birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and the cold air of winter has begun to warm. Children rejoice when the dead of winter gives way to the new life of Spring.
Knowing how to empower your child as we enter the new season of Spring is an incredible way of encouraging our children to be the highest and best version of themselves.
This season is all about new life and beginnings and the newness and empowerment Spring can bring for your child, which is the best way to raise the vibration of our home, for our children to align with us as their parents and align with their hearts and purpose.
3 Ways the Newness and Empowerment Spring Can Bring Your Child
- Mental Refresh
- Bring the Outside In
- Being Present
Mental Refresh
There is no better time than Spring to embrace the fresh start of a new chapter. And, given the harsh winter that many of us have endured, there are likely a few heavy emotions that our children could benefit from releasing.
We may have been in a state of high anxiety and tension for the past few months– and this is natural; as parents, we can feel these things and are children can feed off this energy.
We must walk out without the mental baggage we’ve accumulated and promote positivity, and the newness and empowerment Spring can bring your child.
So, how can your child do this during Spring?
The weather is becoming warmer, and the days are brighter, so let’s encourage our children to play and express themselves outdoors! The outdoors gives us the perfect space to refresh mentally– the fresh air, the new life of beautiful flowers and plants– there is so much to learn and explore!
As we step into Spring, know that your child does not need you to be perfect– we all have days or days where we feel like we can’t be perfect, but that is okay because they experience the same and need to understand that is okay and normal.
If they want to get messy outdoors, let them express themselves; if they’re going to explore the new life of Spring flowers, let them, as it is so good for their mind.
The newness and empowerment Spring can bring your child are inevitable because of this beautiful season’s new beginnings!
Bring the Outside In
We are meant to be in tune with the seasons, but as we have evolved into a society that relies on shelter, we have lost some of that.
Of course, having shelter and living spaces is a beautiful trade-off, but seasons and the natural world do not have to be excluded entirely– we only need to open up a few windows!
The air is warmer and purer in the spring and should be welcomed into our homes. By opening our doors and windows, we invite the joyful energy of Spring inside while also assisting in removing stale air accumulated indoors over the winter.
This is so good for our child’s mental well-being — fresh air in a space where they feel most comfortable — they’re home.
With this in mind, encourage a safe space for your child to get creative and express themselves freely– whether this be arts and crafts, listening to music, reading, writing, playing with toys– whatever they want that will help bring newness and empowerment!
Being Present
Nothing is more powerful than an empowered parent’s presence in their child’s life!
It doesn’t matter where we live or how many gifts our children open; being enough entails providing the necessary ingredients to help our children feel safe, secure, loved, valued, capable, and curious– because this has a long-term impact on our child’s development.
As we enter Spring, be kind to yourself and write a list of things that will encourage you to be the best version of yourself to enable your child to bring newness and empowerment into their life.
Being present shows your child how you deal with certain things, such as– emotions, creativity, health, movement, mindfulness, encouragement and self-worth.
