High school seniors in Temecula, Winchester, Murrieta, Wildomar, and Menifee have the opportunity to apply and earn a scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year.

TEMECULA, CA, March 8, 2023 — LOCAL Bug Guy is currently accepting applications for its second-annual community scholarship for first-year students who will be attending a college or university during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The community scholarship, which was first introduced in 2022, aims to help students achieve their academic goals, a purpose that is at the core of the LOCAL Bug Guy business.

“I started LOCAL Bug Guy in 2011 by knocking on doors because I believed in providing a service that people would actually want to pay for while creating fulfilling and sustainable careers right in our community,” said Brent Longhurst, owner of LOCAL Bug Guy. “I got 220 customers that first year. Now we’ve serviced more than 6,000 customers and have a robust team of dedicated techs. So we want to inspire the next visionary who wants to help transform the community so we ultimately live in a better world.”

The scholarship is open to high school seniors who are graduating from school districts located in Temecula, Winchester, Murrieta, Wildomar, and Menifee, Calif. One student will receive a scholarship of $1,500 that they can use during the 2023-2024 academic year.

To apply, students must complete the application form located on the LOCAL Bug Guy’s website and submit a 500-word essay answering a question about how they use lessons or insights they gained from a local business owner as they pursue their career goals.

The deadline to apply is April 7, 2023. The recipient will be announced on May 1, 2023, on the LOCAL Bug Guy website.
