Piano Lessons Cost Factors

There can be several factors that influence the cost of a piano lesson. Due to this we have provided some of the common factors and an explanation as to how they influence price.

Teacher Experience

The experience level of your teacher is a determining factor on the price. For example a college or high school student could probably teach you how to play piano but their experience level for teaching woud be much lower than someone who has been teaching piano for 20 years. This means a less experienced teacher is often less expensive than a teacher with years of experience.

Length of Lesson

Most lessons are between 30 minutes and 90 minutes and as a general rule of thumb a longer lesson is more expensive than a shorter lesson becasue it requires less time from the instructor. It is best to go with the lesson lenght that works best for you or your child and if your child is on the younger side it is better to go with a shorter lesson due to their attention span.

Travel Time

Typically the longer it takes for a teacher to get to your home the more expensive it will be. You can also reduce the cost by meeting the instructor in their studio or place of business instead of having your teacher come to your home.
